Environmental policy

ASOSH environmental policy: minimising environmental harm, preventing pollution and continually improving our environmental performance.

Last updated November 2026 1 min read Print

We are committed to minimising the risk of environmental harm from our activities and to taking opportunities to enhance the environment wherever we can.

Our planet and the life it supports are precious and must be protected.

Our commitments

  • Continually improve our environmental performance.
  • Set, implement and maintain environmental objectives and targets.
  • Comply with all environmental legal requirements, regulations and guidance that apply to us.
  • Integrate environmental factors into business decisions and plan our work so that its potential environmental impact is properly considered.
  • Prevent the illegal deposit, disposal or treatment of controlled and hazardous waste under our control.
  • Influence the design and specification of activities so that environmental impacts are minimised as far as is reasonably practicable.
  • Use resources of all kinds carefully, including promoting recycled and recyclable materials.
  • Manage waste in line with legislation and make sure everyone involved in producing, transporting and disposing of it meets their duty of care.
  • Periodically review the environmental legislation that applies to our activities to ensure continued compliance with both its letter and its spirit.

In our training

Our courses promote environmentally responsible practice — from the safe handling and disposal of hazardous materials to spill response and pollution prevention — and our centres are encouraged to reduce paper, energy and waste in their own operations.

Protecting the environment makes good business sense and is an investment in our future, in both the short and the long term.
