Health, safety & welfare policy

ASOSH health, safety and welfare policy: safe and healthy working conditions, risk-based controls and our ISO 45001-based management system.

Last updated November 2026 2 min read Print

We are committed to providing safe and healthy working conditions and to preventing work-related injury and ill health to our employees and to anyone else who may be affected by our activities, products and services, so far as is reasonably practicable.

Everyone home safe, every day.

What we provide

  • A safe and healthy place of work.
  • Safe systems of work.
  • Safe equipment, materials and substances.
  • Competent and capable people who are consulted on matters affecting their health, safety and welfare and are able to contribute to improvement.
  • The resources needed to support these efforts.

Compliance and management system

We comply with the laws of the countries where we operate and with the other requirements that apply to our work. We manage health, safety and welfare through an integrated management system that incorporates the requirements of ISO 45001, and we are committed to its continual improvement.

Safe behaviour is a condition of working with us

All our employees and associates will:

  • Implement or follow risk assessments and apply the identified controls, giving priority to: eliminating the hazard, reducing the risk, engineering controls, administrative controls and, as a last resort, personal protective equipment.
  • Be competent for the work they do, or be adequately supervised while gaining that competence.
  • Not interfere with or misuse anything provided for health and safety.
  • Have adequate resources to work safely and without risk to health, and adequate welfare facilities.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping.
  • Use work equipment that is fit for purpose and properly inspected and maintained.
  • Eliminate or control exposure to hazardous materials and substances.
  • Stop work if they believe it cannot be done safely or without risk to health.
  • Receive health surveillance where a risk assessment identifies the need.
  • Cooperate with others, both inside and outside the organisation.

In our training centres

Practical training — fire fighting, work at height, confined space and first aid — is planned with its own risk assessment, delivered by approved trainers and supervised at all times. Accredited centres must apply the same standards.
